"How can I make this better?" -Joanna's filmmaking motto

"I've never received better advice about professionalism and navigating the work world from anyone than Joanna. I still carry that advice to this day. She was the perfect mentor!" -Yan Nguyen

“Working with Joanna was extremely helpful and I learned so much about the Portland film industry from an insider’s point of view. I especially loved the tips and tricks she shared. It was a great experience!” -Natalie Paik

"Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you. I loved getting to know you and your work better and it was so exciting to get to be a part of it!"

-Milo Davis

Interns work directly with Joanna Priestley, learning about filmmaking and honing their animation skills. You will get information on grant writing, film distribution, entering film festivals, how to improve your chances of landing a job in an animation company and how to run your own small business. Internships last from four to eight weeks and hours can be arranged to fit your schedule. Joanna says: "Interns must be skilled at 2D drawn animation and it is extremely helpful (but not always essential) to know Adobe Animate and/or After Effects. Internships are open to graduate students and undergraduate students in their fourth or third year. I have made a few exceptions in the past.
